Hey there! I'm Shemika, and I'm a licensed cosmetologist of 23 years. 

There was a time when hair was all I wanted to do. I couldn't see myself doing anything else. Being a slave to the chair was the norm for me because I thought that was how it was supposed to go. But then I thought to myself, "There's got to be more! There's got to be better!" And it was. I discovered I could make my own schedule and create additional streams of income. In other words.....BE MY OWN BAWSE!!

 One of my greatest fears has always been that I was going to be stuck doing one thing for the rest of my life.  I knew I was far too talented, way too creative, and my ideas were WAY too big for me to be stuck behind that chair forever. Besides, God didn't give me dreams and vision for nothing, right?

Along the way, I have defied the odds. Statistics say I shouldn't have made it. My circumstances say I should have crumbled. But God said otherwise. My faith, perseverance, hard work has allowed me to build my brand. Here are a few things that I've accomplished:

• Opened and maintained two salons
• Started my own hair extension line
• Traveled as an industry educator
• Trained with a few of the industry's top companies and became an extension specialist
• Created multiple streams of income

..... and so much more!

I firmly believe that NOTHING is impossible.

I am a living witness of what you can accomplish when you believe, focus, strategize, educate yourself, and move intentionally.
